The International Relations Office (IRO) is an administrative structural unit of the Free Academy of Tbilisi (FAT). According to the Strategic Development Plan, IRO is serving as a driving force in the internationalization of FAT. Its main tasks include but are not limited to promoting the internationalization of teaching and learning, increasing international awareness, attracting partners around the globe, and expanding partnerships through exchange, institutional programs, and joint research projects, promoting involvement in international organizations and associations. 

The functions of IRO are as follows:

Coordinating exchange programs;

Disseminating information about international programs/exchange opportunities to local students and staff and providing guidance;

Organizing and arranging visits by foreign delegations to FAT;

Maintaining collaboration with the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Georgia, organizations, and academic foundations.
